Alright, I am not big on PvP and MUCH prefer the regular game, but tonight a friend and I decided to take eachother on in a one on one DM to see how it was played. Obviously we couldn't do it. I'd like to see a system allowing one player to challenge another, rewards or not. This could be used for fun, practice, settling in-guild disputes, or other rivalries or fun. I have two suggestions on how to pull this off.

The first one would balance things a tad more as a bonus. First, segregate the arenas. Don't let anybody above say, lv10 in the Ascalon arena, for instance. This will be important and it will solve some of the rants we see where somebody who just came post-searing is complaining about a lv20 who owned him/her in the Ascalon arena. We need this because my suggestion would be to allow players to choose their teams, just like in cooperative missions. Then two players could simply not choose a team for themselves and go it solo. There may be other details, but you get the general idea.

The next idea, which could also be implemented along with my first one, would be AWESOME. If both players are in a guild, allow them to issue a challenge to eachother, but don't allow it to harm the guild ranking, like an unrated match. Now, the guy being challenged can choose his guild hall or the challenger's guild hall for the battleground if they choose to accept. If both the people in question are in the same guild, then obviously it would take place in their hall. I would kill for that! It wouldn't hurt guild ranking, it would allow two players to settle disputes or just have fun or even practice, and it may or may not have a reward.
